Amortization Calculator V1.0 (C) 1990
by James Mannion
for the Commodore Amiga
This program is copyrighted by James Mannion and The Aquarian Source, 1990.
However, it can and should be freely distributed, as long as:
1. No change is made to the program, accompaning documentation, or format
of the distribution. Distribution should contain this file (Amo.doc)
and the program (Amo).
2. No fee is charged except for costs such as magnetic media, or disk dup-
lication and shipping incurred directly in the act of distribution.
3. The program is not packaged with any commercial product without express,
written consent of the author.
By copying, distributing, and/or using the program, you indicate your full
acceptance of these rules. The program is supplied "as-is" with all risk
as to quality to the user. The author and/or owner will in no way be
liable for direct or indirect damage or loss resulting from the use of this
program.
A license fee of $15 is required, and entitles you to receive the next
upgrade in the mail direct from the author. For a limited time, you can
also order source code for $30. If you order source code before Jan 1,
1991 and you submit changes to the author which are subsequently
incorporated and distributed, $28 will be refunded to you and you will
remain a licensed user with all privaleges therein. This offer is for
V1.0 only.
Thank you for your patience with that....now back to our program....
Amo can be run from the CLI by simply typing 'Amo' (no quotes). You may
also attach a WorkBench icon and run it from the WorkBench. I did not
include an icon in the .arc because the system Calculator icon is enuf,
everyone has it, and why make the .arc that much larger!? (Right?)
Amo is short and sweet. Use it before you go out car or house
shopping - jump in and play around with the numbers! That way you'll have
THEM where you want them. The program can calculate the regular payment
for a loan given Principal (Amount), Interest, and time (in Years and
Payments per Year). It can calculate the time (in Years) required to pay a
loan given Amount, Interest, and regular payment. And finally (you guessed
it), it can calculate the Amount to borrow given the payment, interest, and
time. ::whew:: Enter or change any of the 3 known items and calculate the
fourth by pressing the appropriate button.
In addition, once you have your loan calculated to your liking, you can
print an Amortization Schedule either to the printer or screen WITH an
optional balloon payment number and an optional month to start the report.
I hope you find it useful. I hope you enjoy it and pass it on. And I hope
you send in your $15 fee (mostly so I can get to know my fellow and
fellowette Amiga users). If you are interested in the source code, see the
offer at the start of this doc. The program is written in (BenchMark)
Modula II.
